In fairness, this item is made in Africa. The convenience of one’s own house and neighborhood allows each craftsman to work from there. No haggling, transportation charges, or child care fees will deduct from their just compensation. With their profits, the artists provide for their families by paying for their children’s schooling.
Notice that these baskets are flattened for shipping in order to save on packing and postage expenses; this doesn’t affect the baskets in any way, and there are basic instructions supplied on how to reshape them; once they get wet, you may help them return to their normal shape.
